Charleston Cash Based PT

What is Cash-Based PT?

Cash-based physical therapy puts you—not the insurance company—in control of your care. Instead of inflated rates and insurance hoops, you get transparent pricing, personalized care, and direct access to a specialist who is fully focused on your healing. This Charleston physical therapy clinic is here to meet your needs.

Why Choose Cash-Based Physical Therapy Care?

1:1, high-quality care — No rushed sessions, no being passed off to an untrained aide. Every minute is dedicated to you.

Personalized treatment — You and your provider decide what’s best for your recovery—not an insurance company.

Excellence over bureaucracy — Instead of spending time fighting for reimbursement, we invest in advanced education and specialty training to offer the highest level of care.

Smarter financial choices — If you have a high deductible or no insurance, you may save money with cash-based PT. In-network providers mark up rates to account for discounts they give insurers. You get honest, upfront pricing—no surprises.

Why are we Different than In-Network Care?

To compensate for lower insurance reimbursements, many clinics:
🔹 Limit your time with a Doctor of Physical Therapy
🔹 Increase your time with an untrained rehab aide while still billing you for PT
🔹 Focus more on billing tactics than patient care

If you’re serious about your health and want expert-level care without the red tape, cash-based PT is for you.

Privacy & Inclusion at Move Well Collective

We prioritize your privacy and trust. While we are not bound by HIPAA as an out-of-network provider, we treat your information with the same level of confidentiality.

We are also committed to making quality care accessible. Scholarships and barter opportunities are available, with priority given to BIPOC, non-binary, trans, and other marginalized individuals who need financial assistance.

Your health. Your choice. Your care.

Charleston SC Physical Therapy

Why Choose Out-Of-Network Physical Therapy?

Choosing Out-of-Network Cash-Based Physical Therapy services puts you in control of your care— and may even save you money compared to in-network insurance models. Move Well Collective offers in-person PT in Charleston, SC. Remote services are available via telehealth or Health Coaching as well. Benefits to Out-of-Network care include:

  • Person-centered: Your care on your terms

    • When an insurance company is the primary payer, they are the client and their needs (& demands) come first. Typical restrictions from insurance companies include: only working on one body part (diagnostic code) at a time, which is not only ineffective, it is dehumanizing. We aren’t broken parts in a machine, we are humans! Our parts are interconnected and we respond better to treatment that is integrated.

  • Biopsychosocial: You—as a whole person— matter!

    • You aren’t just a knee or a neck. You are a whole adaptive, self-organizing, resilient, capable and amazing human being with many layers that contribute to your experience of being in your body and your relationship to it! A wealth of research supports a biopsychosocial approach in which the biomechanical is integrated with psychological and social factors, and yet few models in healthcare have successfully implemented this approach.

  • Evidence-informed:

    • Out-of-Network PTs don’t waste time haggling with insurance companies—so they have time and energy to stay educated on the most up-to-date evidence and trends in rehab and put your needs first!

  • Trauma-informed:

    • Whether your trauma was from a physical injury or psychosocialemotional wound, or both— your brain and body need to understand that you are safe for the nervous system to switch from crisis mode to restore/repair mode. A trauma-informed therapist can make all the difference here, ensuring that your nervous system utilizes its own inherent resources for healing, instead of wasting time, energy and effort fighting off potential danger because it doesn’t recognize that the crisis has ended.

My services include treatments that are individualized for you, your body, your mind, your goals. In a few sessions we will find the program that meets your needs so you start feeling improvement. Here is a short list of what I can assist with but there is much more I can offer as part of Charleston SC cash-based physical therapy services or remote telehealth or virtual Health Coaching:

Charleston Physical Therapy Cash-Based Practices

Physical Therapy is a respected profession specializing in the evaluation and treatment of the movement system. It is considered conservative rehabilitation that uses therapeutic interventions including education, movement, and restorative practices to improve physical mobility, function and quality of life. Interventions like manual therapy, nerve glides or dry needling have a short-lived analgesic effect & can be combined with exercise, which has a long-term analgesic effect for a comprehensive pain relief program. Over time, the body gets better at whatever it practices. The body that practices pain relieving mechanisms like endogenous opioid pathways will actually strengthen those pathways, upregulating endogenous opioids and their receptors such that the natural analgesic system becomes stronger over time and the person is less prone to suffering from chronic pain that is not useful.

At Move Well Collective we do train our peers on best practices in high quality management of complex cases. We often have doctoral students and may ask if you are comfortable having a student or colleague observe your session so that they can benefit from learning from your case. As with anything that we offer, this is entirely your choice and you may withdraw consent at any time for any reason. We are here to serve you and honor your needs and our utmost priority is that you feel heard, respected, and safe so that you can heal.

Virtual Health Coaching

At Move Well Collective, we are a community dedicated to making movement accessible—and even enjoyable—for everyone. Our heartfelt goal is to help you experience the profound benefits of health and wellness through movement and connection with a supportive community. Sometimes you cannot make it in person, so we offer virtual options. You may be at a stage where you only need guidance instead of hands-on assistance. Our ultimate goal is that you can self-care with as little support from us— so we are happy to provide you with simple tools for you to self-treat.

At Move Well Collective, virtual health clients get the support they need from the comfort of their homes via video conferencing like Zoom. This offers convenience and access to care for anyone who needs it. Our unique platform offers 2-way messaging and sharing of curated videos and educational content so that those who need our assistance can benefit from it regardless of location.

Telehealth Physical Therapy

Telehealth physical therapy is provided over a online platform. Much like Virtual Health Coaching, a licensed physical therapist will work with you to assess your condition and provide real-time feedback. You’ll receive guidance on how to adjust your individualized program in order to continue progressing toward your goals. If you are in a state that I am licensed in, then we can call this service “physical therapy” and I can offer a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement for Out-of-Network PT rates. If you are not in a state that I am licensed in (currently SC only,) please set your appointment as a Health Coaching appointment— that way you still have access to the care you deserve. Either way, we will make the most of our time together to ensure that your voice is heard and you have the tools you need to move forward toward your health and wellness goals.

At Move Well Collective, virtual/telehealth options are offered to make sure you have access to quality care, even if you are bedbound or if you live in a remote area and do not have specialists nearby. You deserve the highest quality care! Please let us know if you have concerns about cost as a limited number of sliding scale slots are available.
